Warm outbound: write to the people already in your orbit.
Every week, people look at your profile, like your posts, follow your page and visit your site. They know you exist. They haven't raised their hand. Warm outbound is starting the conversation with them, instead of with strangers.

The short answer
Warm outbound is outreach to people who have already shown interest in you but haven't contacted you, such as your LinkedIn profile viewers, post engagers, followers and website visitors. Because they already know who you are, warm outbound gets far higher reply rates than cold outbound to strangers, using the same message and the same channel.
Most teams start in deep space. The warm ring is closer, and nobody's working it.
Stop grabbing asteroids.
Picture your company as a planet. On the planet are the people filling in your forms and booking demos. In the atmosphere around it are the people who viewed your profile, liked a post, followed your page or visited your site and left. Further out is everyone else.
Most founders launch, then go straight to the far edge: buy a list, blast strangers, hope. That's trying to grab asteroids out of deep space and drag them home, while the people already circling overhead get ignored.
The gap isn't how you message. It's who, and when.
Why warm wins.
Source: Valley's 2025 data across 7.3 million prospects. Warm campaigns out-replied cold in every segment.
Same copy. Same channel. Same type of person. The only difference is that a warm lead already has a reason to recognise your name. When Valley launched warm lists to its beta users, they averaged a 47% reply rate against 8% on their cold campaigns.
Warm outbound is not marketing, and not cold.
- It's not inbound. They didn't contact you. You go first.
- It's not cold. They've already met you, even if only for three seconds on a post.
- It's not "thanks for viewing my profile!" The warmth decides who you write to. The message is still about them. See how to write it, or copy one of the templates.
Run your funnel by warmth.
Inbound at the bottom. Warm outbound in the middle. Cold at the top. Most early companies can grow a long way on the first two layers, and every post you publish makes the middle layer bigger. Content creates the orbit; warm outbound collects it. No audience yet? Borrow one. Wondering how this differs from inbound? Warm outbound vs inbound.
